Terms of participation
Last updated 30 October 2026
These terms apply when you create a profile and take part in The Restaurant, a series of free, invite-only evenings for designers in Berlin, organized by Hatch Community Events UG (haftungsbeschränkt) ("we"). By logging in you accept them.
1. Who can take part
The evenings are for designers and design leaders working in in-house teams. You can join with an invite code from someone in the community or the organizers, as a participant of Hatch Conference 2026 or Ateliers, as someone's plus one, or from the application list, where we let 20 people in each month, oldest requests first. We can decline a request without giving reasons. Solicitors, vendors and recruiters coming to sell or hire are not admitted.
2. Your account and profile
You log in with a code we email you; keep access to your email account to yourself. Your profile must be about you and true. You confirm that you may use the photo you upload, and you let us show your profile to other guests and, if you are featured, on the evening page. You can change it any time.
3. Tickets
- Tickets are free and personal. You can hold one ticket per evening and bring one plus one, who gets their own ticket once they create a profile.
- Being in the community does not hold you a seat. Tickets open 10 to 12 days before an evening (12 days, or the Monday after if that is a weekend), for everyone at the same time, first come. After the room is full, requests join the standby list.
- About 72 hours before the evening we email you one question. If you do not answer within 24 hours, your seat goes to the standby list.
- All deadlines are final: a plus-one seat not accepted within 24 hours, a confirmation not answered within 24 hours, or a ticket not cancelled 12 hours before cannot be restored or extended.
- If you attended the last 3 evenings in a row, your next request joins the standby list so new people get a seat first.
4. Cancelling and no-shows
If you cannot come, press "I'm not going" up to 12 hours before the evening; there is no penalty. If you hold a ticket, do not cancel in time and do not come, you get a strike: you cannot claim a ticket for the next evening. A second strike before you attend an evening again means you cannot claim tickets for the next 3 evenings. Attending an evening clears your strikes. An organizer checks the door list before a strike applies, so a scanning mistake can be fixed, but missed deadlines are final and we make no exceptions.
5. At the evening
The evenings work because everyone takes part: you sit at a table and share. Treat other guests, hosts and staff with respect; no pitching, selling or recruiting. Follow the house rules of the host venue. We can ask anyone who breaks these rules to leave and can block their profile.
We take photos at the evenings; see the privacy policy for how to opt out. What other guests share at a table is shared in confidence; do not publish it with their name without asking.
6. Changes to an evening
We may change the date, venue or programme of an evening, or cancel it, for example if a host has to withdraw. We tell ticket holders by email as early as we can. Since the evenings are free, we do not refund travel or other costs.
7. Liability
We are liable without limit for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the Product Liability Act. For slight negligence we are only liable for breaching an essential obligation, limited to the damage typical and foreseeable for an event like this. Otherwise our liability is excluded. This also applies to our staff and helpers.
8. Ending
You can delete your profile any time by writing to info@hatchconference.com. We can end the series or block a profile for serious or repeated breaches of these terms.
9. General
German law applies. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, the mandatory consumer protection rules of that country still protect you. If part of these terms is invalid, the rest stays in force. We may update these terms; we tell you by email before a change applies to you.
